I talked to a service advisor there last week and he said I could get a loaner for a $20 flat fee, not sure what kind of loaner though, they did not have time for me until the end of this week, but I will report back after I drop of my car.

Need a third choice: Sometimes. I get a Boxster or Cayman loaner if they have one, otherwise it's Enterprise. I'm old (52) and I remember when there were no loaners for MB, BMW, or Porsche. They didn't wash and clean the car after service either. The Japanese shamed them into it and we've been spoiled ever since. .

My dealer in Austin, TX will provide a Cayenne (if you let them know ahead of time that you are coming in they reserve one for you). Top notch service from all departments in the dealership: sales, svc, business office, etc.....No complaints thus far.

My dealer in L.A. used to provide Enterprise POS cars. Then a couple years ago when they opened the "new" modern facility and became a Premier Dealer, they had a fleet of Cayennes (and some Cayenne S's) for loaners, but more recently they cut back and I think they only have one Cayenne loaner. Usually doesn't matter much to me since my office is a mile or two away and they have a shuttle, and I would much rather get my car back the same day rather than having a free loaner.

interesting thread.

my responses:

dealer 1: Parktown Porsche, Kirkwood MO. always offered me an Audi A4. only took it once, I could walk to their dealership from my house.

dealer 2: Porsche Beverly Hills, BH, CA. no loaner cars. they will give you a ride (in a minivan!) wherever you need to go. only took it once, I can walk to their service center from my house.

moral of the story: live close to your repair facility!

Barrier Porsche in Bellevue have always given me Enterprise loaners to date. They're always generous to offer it which is fine by me. Would be cool to have another Porsche to drive.

First time they gave me a new Mercedes 300C, next tiime a new Panamera 300HP 4... almost want to borrow the V8 Panamera then maybe the Turbo V8 .... 500hp.

If they didn't fix the 911S I was going home in one of the upper end four doors.. Really a nice car.....a very nice car....

Some dealers are being given a number of dedicated loaner cars by PCNA. My dealer (Walter's in Riverside, CA) had a number of Cayenne V6's as loaners for while, but then Porsche came and took them back. They're expecting to get a number of Panamera V6's as loaners within the next few weeks. Until then, they send you to a rental shop across the street and pay for the rental. I typically get either an A4 or C300 from the rental company.

My dealership gives me a Cayenne, usually pretty dam new! My Benz dealership either gives me a C class or an E if they can drum one up. My Benz salesman lives north of me, so he swaps w/ me in the driveway and returns in kind!

Stead Porsche:

I got shuttled in a courtesy van back home. I was told they don't give out loaners: I own a boxster spyder

My partner gets a panamera for a loaner: He owns a 997.2 Turbo S

I will say the work he was having done took several days, whereas mine only took a few hours. Clearly there is a 2 tier system though.

It is somewhat odd that my Infiniti dealer will give me a nice G37 loaner, but my Porsche dealer shuttles me in a van. Not a big deal since I 'hope' to not have to visit them to often...
