Default Farewell '07 TT... hello C4S PDK

For various reasons I had decided a while ago that I wanted to move to a PDK equipped car... I had assumed it would be a TT. When the 2010 TT spec was released a few weeks ago, I was disappointed that it does not have the extra improvements to power and design that I was expecting. I therefore cancelled my 2010 TT order and worked with my dealer to look for an alternative.

I decided on a Meteor Grey 09 997 C4S with PDK, Sport Chrono Plus, PASM Sport suspension, XM, Bluetooth, Bose, etc. etc.

Got a great deal. Picked up the car today and am super impressed with the PDK.

I'll miss the whoosh of the twin turbos but I do love the PDK and exhaust note of the 4S...and those hips, yum!

I think its the same width. IMO, the exposed spoiler on the TT takes distracts one from its hips. I do love the clean lines of the 4S.

It's the same rear as the TT, which is to say - NICE! Enjoy

Same hips, but you will notice that going from that insane Turbo power, everything else is kind of bland. I did the same thing, and really miss my Turbo.

Congrats. Is that a launch car with the sport seats?

It has a launch code where the factory spec'd it and is new (around 50 miles on the clock). It's got the power comfort seats with memory.

Todd, you make a valid point. I'm sure I'm going to miss the power. I just had to decide which would be the best option for the time being. I'm seriously considering getting a Panamera Turbo or something similar as an additional vehicle. Unfortunately I'm just not convinced Porsche are going the right way with the TT. Time will tell and the nice thing is that whenever I go back to the Turbo, I will once again appreciate its wonders.

BTW, just to compensate for the loss of power and exhilaration, I got myself a bike! A BMW F800GS !

I agree that Meteor Grey is the pick of the '09 colors and full leather goes a long way to setting up the cabin to justify the price of the car. I think '09 discounting is as good as it will get for the most part and the delta to a 2010 is only the year younger model year resale value since there's no new options or improvements or included value (standard features) in the 2010. And it will probably be six months or a year before "real" discounting comes into play for the 2010 cars. Some of the local dealers still have new '08 cars ... the supply of '09 cars has gone down significantly after several months of discounting, but obviously there are still "premium" cars like this meteor/full black example there for savvy buyers. Nicely done.

I heard that the turbo is obviously a hoot in a straight line, but that the carrera is a more engaging car to drive any truth to that? Or, if we could all afford turbo's, would we get one?

I passed on a Turbo and could've afforded it. It's just too damn fast for where I live. To get ANY enjoyment out of it, I'd be risking jail time daily...

The C4S is plenty fast (I have a Meteor Launch Edition, too), looks great, gets amazing mileage , and won't murder me on maintenance like a Turbo would.

Congrats to Haku! You'll love it...
