Default Fishing rod transport?

Downsizing to a C4S and was wondering who has transported fishing rods to their favorite spot. I believe the ski/snowboard system can double as a rod holder/carrier but would like to hear from someone who has done it or perhaps there are other options? Thanks!!

I have a Cabrio. Obviously, fitting a roof rack is a problem. A 7 foot rod will just fit in the car with the butt in the passenger side footwell and the tip against the rear window on the drivers side. The seat is still usable, with minor interference.

+1, yip!! Done that on a ocean pole. For a lake pole, often they are in two piece. So no problem for the pole. The problem is where to put the catch. Can't put it in the cabin. The front trunk can only fit one or two big yellowtail. Make sure bring big plastic bags to hold the catch, otherwise lots of air freshner!!!

Why not purchase a two piece or three piece rod?
Cost-wise, it would be lower than purchasing the ski rack.

My fly fishing rod is a 4 piece and I can fit it easily in the frunk.

Great info! Thanks much. Will look into it. I'll need a rack at times for bike transport so was looking into the other options used/available. Didn't give a thought to the 2-3 piece rods until you mentioned it. Great idea to carry daily. Lots to fish in Fl.

I use 2-piece fly rods and they fit just fine inside the car. In fact, I'm going fly fishing this weekend!
