I've done this installation many times. It is possible on the ground without lifting, but it's much easier if you have access to a lift. If you have good tools, extensions and wobble sockets, you can do it on the ground. But it's a bit rough on your back/neck.

Hi Rijowysock,
The pipes do not meet in the middle. There are two separate pipes that cross paths. This is the way the factory exhaust works as well (the two pipes are independent and make a U-turn with the OEM center muffler).

We tried the X-pipe design which is a bit different than OEM, but found it was just not a significant-enough sound change from the stock exhaust. It was simply too quiet.

^ interesting.. so the stock are seperate.. im guessing thats why some people have the "soot in the left" problem... because the left side is independent of the right side.
