The rebate does not apply to 2010's. There is 10k cash back on 2009's there are two catches. First you can’t get the 1.9% financing with cash back. Second, the dealer in order to get the 10k back has to take another car from the port to replace it. Many dealers are on floor plan hold and can’t take more cars and the selection of cars at the ports are not all that desirable at this time so many dealers are not aggressively offering the 10k cash back, its dealer discretion.

This might not even be the bottom. When I bought my 07 C4S at the end of Dec 08, I thought I was getting a deal. The car has probably lost $10k from what I paid since then, and I got $7k off the dealer's asking price.

The bottom of this market is very elusive.

On the other hand, Porsche's June numbers were terrible. So the motivation to move cars now must be very high.

Is it cash back to the customer, or is it a cash-to-dealer incentive? Do the .001XX lease money factors apply, and if not, what is the lowest MF if the $10k is applied?

Thanks in advance...

There were no programs in June so you had to figure the numbers would be sick

Cash back to the dealer and NO you cant use the cheap lease money with the cash back on 911's

IIRC the money rate is something like .0036 pretty pathetic

Good luck picking bottom, I didnt bother trying to do that as a trader either. The deals are pretty stacked right now, could they get even better? Sure but really how much further is there to go when you can buy at 110k car for something like 90 or better?

For one thing, the 2010 cars are not at the dealers yet. Once those are on the floor, the unsold 2009s will be in even worse shape. Your pickings will be fewer, but the deals on those may be better then if you can expand your search area.

I would expect them to hold onto the 2010's for a while, I know you cant really find a build spot until something like DEC or Jan right now

It varies between dealers and he would be better served calling each dealer himself to see what they can offer him.

If I find a new 2009 that spec'ed the way I want, is there any reason I should hold out for a 2010 considering that the deals are all on the 2009s? I know the 2010s have a couple of new options but I don't care for them.

Cheers,
ramjet
