I met my wife in graduate school, when I had no money and was driving a 2nd hand Civic. She's my ideal woman though - smart, educated and beautiful with absolute class and substance...and to be quite honest, a car or anything that could be purchased is not going to impress her one bit.

Now with a 911, I do get quite a bit of looks and waves from girls just driving around, but I couldn't care less. In my eyes, there's only my wife.

As mentioned above...it's more of a guy magnet! LOL Men I've never met come up to me to talk at gas stations, gym, etc....

I'm sensing a trend here.

My wife could give a sh*t about the car too. She will drive it if she "has too", but generally prefers the Cayenne, and claims she would be happy in a Sentra. At least she doesn't give me a hard time about it (as long as I don't spend too much time w/ it).

I'm pretty low profile in the car. The windows are tinted, and folks around here are pretty jaded. So, no extra attention, nobody tries to race me, nothing.

The only thing I seem to attract is cops!

When I was one of the first people to own an RX-8, I was like a friggin celebrity! People whipping around, taking pics/video, and almost caused a few accidents.

My wife suggested I buy a 911 instead of getting an extension built on the house some years ago. Amazing how quickly I managed to clear the garage of all of that junk!! She knew I'd always wanted one, and she enjoyed driving that 996 C2. Replaced almost 2 years ago with a 997 GT3, that she loved to drive; trackdays included. Now REALLY loves our orange RS. I have to share trackdays with her!

She finds talking cars to female friends difficult....their eyes just seem to glaze over. Most just don't get cars at all.

I've been married to the same beautiful women for 27+ years and a day does not go by when she asks me to sell that expensive car (06 9974s).....thinks it's too flashy, fast etc. I've even put a supercharger on it for added fun, and still sleep in the same bed! She has driven it twice, when her Volvo wagon was not around. Of course no mention of the awesome experience she just had..... She will get her wish in a few more years, and I hope she likes the new 997.2 turbo. I might get the same color and see if she even notices!

Thankfully my husband and I share the love for driving good cars. We might not agree on colors all the time, but he didn't complain when I decided to go from a C4S to a turbo. Of course, it always has to be a cab -- that's clearly a chick thing...

Perhaps we can help these guys convince their SOs of the wisdom behind spirited driving...

Yes, and welcome! So now, onto that turbo cab. I had traded my M6 cab in on the C2s cab, next one will be either a C4s or turbo cab. Hope you can find the right one!

My wife thought the '05 Boxster S I traded in for my '06 911 S was "cute." Can't convince 'er that Beast beats cute. And she worries when I track it. Which is a lot (what the heck else is it for???) To her credit, she doesn't complain about the cost or the fact I spend many weekends with the guys at the track.
