What Women Think Of Your P-Car??
#18
For a married man, buying a Porsche isn't to impress women or anyone. It is just a progression of automobile experience. After so many years of driving Mercedes AMGs, A Porsche just seems like logical next step to take. Plus life is short and business is good so why not indulge a bit. BTW, my wife just don't dig Porsche, she prefers Mercedes.

hmmm - my wife couldn't care less - women I don't know often say, "nice car", female friends of mine - say "nice" and one really nice woman said to me - your wife should let you retire so you can drive your Porsche all the time

In regards to the classic comparison to the Corvette my wife loves the Porsche. I almost bought a Z06 a few months ago, and her response was, "I thought you were going to get a Porsche?" Now that the purchase of the Porsche is a real thing (last Friday), she seems most concerned about the cost and that I'm going to spend more money modifying it. That and that we have too many cars with unfinished projects that I have started.

Same boat...that said, the first few months of ownership of the 997 red Targa I had a classy woman driving a massarati approach me ...car talk and asked me out for a drink.
Then at a gas station this 20 some year old came up to me while her boyfriend was paying for gas "nice car, we should get together..here is my card". The fact that I am fifty, little overwt, and wearing my wedding band didn't stop them.
This never happened to me when I owned my YUGO...wonder why?

ok, gentlemen, woman here...Opposite end of the spectrum for me. I love cars. No kids. No husband now. Most of my colleagues, male, are jealous!!!! Why, their wives wouldn't let them have a car, have kids that are in expensive private schools, divorce and paying through the nose, etc. The car is for me! i love how it drives, handles, sounds and feels!!!
There are many more things that impress me about men other than their cars! But that is another thread...

My ex - girlfriend was much more impressed with my previous SL than she ever was with the Porsche. She loved to drive the Benz but wouldn't give the p-car a second look.
Someone I gave a ride to in the p-car exclaimed "You traded in that beautiful car [SL] for this jalopy?"
In the end I buy cars for myself. Anybody looking to impress women (like At Law) with the cars they drive are the same people who provide fodder for the micro-***** sterotype.

had a love of them ever since I was a kid and my dad bought a Guards Red
944 Turbo.
Frankly, I am sure the majority of us have dated women who are
into material items only, and this shows. These type of women are
quickly thrown to the side in order to search for one with a little
more character. Shallow women are a dime a dozen and I can
only imagine they would make your married life miserable.
My girlfriend enjoys my P-Car. Her father is a gentlemen
farmer (I live in the Midwest) who has a 993 tucked away in
one of his Morten Buildings. She is not dating me because
I have a Porsche and a Range Rover Sport. She is dating me because
I am stunningly handsome and am an excellent dancer (no, not at all) .
Boolala: Let's bury the hatchet. You know I am always right.
