New 997.2 Owner
Hello,
Time to introduce myself. I am the happy new owner of a 2009 C2S Cabriolet. Meteor Grey with standard Black interior; PDK with SC+.
As you can see from the pics, I’ve already added the clear side markers. I also had Performance Mobile Group apply a clear bra to the front quarter of the car (thanks Greg). I’ll be keeping my eyes open for the next group buy on the SmartTop. I also plan to ask my dealer to check on the PCM & PDK updates.
I previously owned a Polar Silver/Metropole Blue 2000 996 Cabriolet Tip. The 997 is much more refined (PCM/nav, Bluetooth, iPod, seat ventilation) yet with the PDK, bigger engine and Sport/PASM engaged the performance is even more exhilarating.
The car will mostly be a weekend driver although my wife likes to drive it occasionally during the week (hence the PDK for her). My daily driver is a BMW E39 540i Sport six-speed, and my other weekend toy is a 1962 Jaguar E-Type OTS (British Racing Green/Biscuit). Prior cars included an Austin-Healy Bugeye Sprite and a '72 BMW 2002.
After a hiatus from the 996, I’ve recently been reading the board frequently and thank all for sharing their insights. The recent thread about the First Mile program expiring on June 1 prompted me to look into buying now, and once I started talking to my sales guy, I couldn’t wait any longer to pull the trigger.
I’m planning on taking a friend’s son to the Palo Alto Concourse this month (Porsche is a featured marque this year) and I’m considering joining the PCA corral at the Monterey Historics in August (Porsche is also featured this year).
I hope you enjoy the pics.
Regards,
SY

Beautiful Cab, nice wheels and color too! Congrats. If you're ever in the east bay, take a drive up Mt. Diablo for some curves, turns and twisties oh and some views too, but do it on a weekday, too many bike riders on the weekend.

Welcome -
as for cleaning wheels, the trick is to do it often and use a really good quality long bristled brush with good wheel cleaner (like Griot's) - I think I wash the wheels 3:1 over the car... Its easy if you keep up on it and only takes a couple minutes each time that way

Skyline pics! Close to Alice's restaurant on hwy 35, can't mistake those shots.
Nice ride, btw Saturday mornings back parking lot in Santana Row is an informal meet of car guys who routinely drive up to Alice's for lunch.
