Default 09 child booster seat thread-please help

Anyone bought a child booster seat for the rear of your 997 LATELY? (For 3-4 year olds and up) Most of the info on past threads is great, but outdated (as in the seats are retired and unavailable.) I’ve spent hours researching this, please help. I know the “Porsche Plus” one will fit but it is double to triple the price of some of the others listed below and looks huge. I might end up there but want to investigate the options. Some of the thinner retired seats look like they would give the munchkins more room.

Let’s make an updated list as this will continue to come up. For myself and many others those rear seats have made the 911 a viable choice vs. true 2 seaters.

Popular Rennlister recommended seats retired this year:
Britax Starriser
Britax Parkway
Fisher Price Safe Voyage Booster
Looks like some of the Recaro options have gone away too.
Graycos have been mentioned but I can’t find a model number

(Lots of these look available if you Google them, but when you go to the links they are gone.)

The new Britax Regent and Frontier boosters are more expensive then the Porsche Plus seat and look really big.

The Safeguard Go looks like a good option (thanks MartyB) want to make sure I’m not missing one before I order, try, and return a bunch of seats.

Thanks in advance

TX - got your private message. I had some trouble emailing pics today. I will have to try again early next week as I will be out of pocket until then. The booster I bought was the Parkway and it fits fairly well. I did a quick search and it looks like they are all gone. You might try going to Babies R Us with your car - they will let you try as many as you want in the parking lot.

We went through the same thing about a year ago. We bought two of the Britax Monarch Red Racer Boosters. They fit great (just remove the cupholders) and look cool too (at least in red). And they had good reviews.

But I note they are now discontinued: http://www.britaxusa.com/car-seats/retired-products/ (and it looks like babiesrus just sold out of them). I don't even see any on ebay.

If it helps, the specifications are: 15.5 x 17.5 x 27.5 in

I recently got the Porsche seat (33-80 lbs.) for my almost 4 y/o and I'm very happy with it. Well made and seems to offer lots of protection, price not that bad.

Don't mean to rehash this, thanks guys:

MartyB, thanks definitely would like to see the Safeguard Go pics. Especially how the anchors look unearthed for carpet.

Yaletown, that's my problem so many good ones have been discontinued.

brendorenn, jcnesq: Do you have to use tether (i.e dig out the anchor points on the Porsche Plus or does it just use the seat belt back there?

I used Britax Parkways as seats and Combi Dakotas as boosters. I'll post/PM/email some pics if you'd like (don't have them handy right now).

Bgoldey, pics are always helpful. The Britax Parkway is unavailable now. I will look into the Combi Dakotas. Thanks!

My three year-old is 42" and 41 lbs. I've had the Recaro Vivo Lite for a while and it fits easily in the rear of a 997. He sat in the rear for a very spirited test-drive of a Turbo and the seat fit well and didn't budge. I ended up buying an 997 RS with no rear seats and subsequently discovered that it fits the front seat just as well.

It's only ~$70 on Amazon.

the tether is for the cayenne to disable airbags. i cut it off. at first, i thought i'll leave it on in case i sell them eventually and after realizing i'll use the seats for 5-7 years, i quickly realized swinging that thing around was a pain in the ***.

we have 3 cars and then we have carseats for hte nanny's car. the porsche seats clearly are the alternative for the 911. my preference for my E55 and my wife's ML are recaro. many alternative brands are very good, but that's my preference

Good stuff, I'm officially adding the Recaro Vivo and Vivo Lite to the list.

Does the back come off the Porsche Plus seat or is it fixed like the Recaros?

I found the Fisher Price Safe Voyage Booster (made by Britax) to fit perfectly due to its extremely narrow width (which is adjustable). The back is removable and there's even enough room for the small cupholder to attach on one side. Problem is they are no longer made so they can be hard to find. PM me for some sources that I found when shopping if interested.

This pic shows both the seat back and bottom, but I've found I don't need to use it with my 6 yr old. She prefers riding with only the booster bottom and the factory seat back. Hope this helps.

the back stays on the porsche seat. i prefer the entire set up because it has more head protection.

if i get ambitious, i'll take a pic
