Here's the Combi Dakota...I keep the car seat bottom in place (it's held by velcro) and put a towel under the booster. Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention, I remove the rear seat bottom (just pull it right out) and the fabric portion of the Safe Voyage seat bottom cover naturally sticks to the velcro that is already in place. No rear seat also makes cleaning up after the little ones a snap -- just vacuum the carpet of any crumbs they leave behind.

Hey Brendorenn,

I was checking out the Porsce seat yesterday. The seat back is removable, as demonstrated by the parts guy. The booster w/o back has little arm rests similar to the booster pics in this thread. The seat does not look as nice as the one I checked out a few months ago - less padding and ill-fitting upholstery. perhaps they changed manufacturers. I'm sure it will still get the job done just fine.

^ somebody just clarified that for me also. thanks. the fitment on my seats is great - maybe they did change manufacturers??

the key issue for me is that it fits perfectly in the back of the 997. in the end the fit of the base of the seat, elevating the child to the point where the seatbelt restrains the child is the most important thing. having a seat base swish around could compromise that IMO so i've to the porsche seat for the next 5 years or so...hopefully it holds up!

That's what is so great with the Safe Voyage seat as well. It's hard to see in the photos, but the base fits perfectly -- like a glove. No movement at all. Even better, this is a much cheaper seat than the Porsche seats -- only issue is finding one.

Here are the Porsche booster seats. I got them from Suncoast for about $240.00 each. It fits perfectly in the back and it has excellent head and lateral support. I believed these are made by Britax. My 6 and 4 toddlers fit fine with some legrooms left to spare. Although it helps when I am only 5 feet 7 inches tall. I chose these because my other Britax booster is too big for the rear.

My wife researched all the current model seat dimensions. The narrowest seems to be the Evenflo Tribute and Graco Comfort Sport. I ordered 2 of the Evenflo Tributes. If they don't fit well I may take Smindustries advice and try the Recaro Vivo Lite.

FYI - I measured our Safe Voyage booster, and it's approximately 14" wide (adjustable) and has room to spare. I think the Graco booster in our other car was around 18".

Now that my wife bought a new S6 with the sport seats (rear is contoured like two buckets), I'm back on the search for another one for her. The Graco did not fit in the bucket...

I'll keep you guys posted.

Update - When shopping for another Safe Voyage booster for my wife's car, I bought a few extras. PM me if anyone is interested.

Does 997.2/997.1 have the latch system in the rear seats?
Are you placing these seats without the latch?

These cars do have the LATCH system in the rear. It's hidden away under a carpeted cover near the rear window on either side.

The Safe Voyage booster does have a LATCH tether hook attached to the seat base - more useful if you are leaving the seat back attached.

Near the rear window? Do you mean the tether points or the LATCH?

Not sure on the terminology, but it's the metal anchor point onto which the tethered hook from the seat latches. What do you call that?
