Except all of the people who get them repossessed. Or people who can't pay their mortgage because they spent too much on crap like 52" TVs that they couldn't rightly afford.

 

Except that's really a different discussion and not what the OP is asking. Clearly if affordability is an issue, then any incremental cost -- regardless of value -- is not a good idea. If I understand correctly, the OP is seeking feedback from those who have gone through the same thought process, but without the implication on affordability.

When you take the total cost of both vehicles - YES the 5K difference is minimal and well worth its cost...

 

I only buy used and I only buy well optioned with the most power available for the given year.
