2009 Porsche Carrera S Exhaust Soot!

After a drive I always find black dust on my silver back bumper. When I wipe it down with some Qwik Detailer and a white towel, I also find the same stuff on the bumper behind the rear wheel wells and to a lesser extent on the fender/door panel immediately behind the front wheel wells. It looks exactly like the black stuff I clean off my wheels. I had the same issue with my silver '99 996 an '07 Boxster S,which were not DFI cars. My assumption is that this is brake and perhaps rubber dust. Clearly there is no soot coming off the front wheels. Also FWIW, my tailpipes don't show unusual black build up and my car burns almost no oil.
I'm confused by this whole soot issue. If DFI engines really generate this much soot, how are they able to pass (which they apparently do) strict emission controls for particulate matter and other pollutants?

I will take and post a picture of the soot on my rear bumper as soon as it stops raining here. My pipes are completely flat matte black, inside and the soot on the bumpers is almost fluffy, ie, relatively large particles. I will post the pics soon. I too am puzzled about how Porsche can call this normal as it seems these are very visible pollutants being expelled into the atmosphere! This is the exact line of reasoning I used at the dealership asking them how could this be normal? My old fashioned diesel powered boat (no common rail injection, or electronic controls) produces some black deposits on the gelcoat but a much finer type than is coming out of my C2S's exhaust pipes. Diesel powered cars have particulate traps to contain these emissions, so I can't imagine my car would pass an emissions inspection. There is no way that what I am seeing is brake or rubber dust!

Sorry boys, I have a '09 C2S purchased at Christmas (Merry Christmas to me) and have no soot issues. It's been a daily driver and I've logged over 1800 miles. Per the book, I keep the revs between 2 and 4k, with an occasional run up to 5k (I just can't resist). In normal driving, I like to stay between 3 and 4k. Fuel has been BP / Amoco 93 or Sunoco 94. As for oil, I've added 1/2 quart during this time.
In short, she's running like a dream and the exhaust is finally starting to loosen so I can hear it.

While there is alot of back and forth "I have it", "I don't have it" comments here - it does seem clear from all the independent posts from different owners who have this problem, and excessive oil consumption, that something is not right here.

Almost 10,000 miles here...

I have learned to live with washing my car every three says to remove the soot and to top off the oil myself after every two -three fillups with gas.
I'd love it if all the people on this board could come together and ask Porsche for a fix...

My hunch is that more time has to pass before P takes any action.
Adias is right here. For those who think they have problems, document them. I do.
BTW my dealer offers "free" car washes, so perhaps they will get sick of washing the soot every week and do something about it!

Soot Issue
Have people noticed any change in the soot on their cars?
Mine has reduced itself in warm weather. It's still present, but not nearly as bad as when car was brand new. 12,000 miles and it even shifts smoother.
I would never buy a new porsche ever again. Better off buying used and seeign if you like the car.
Like my car so much more at 12,000 miles than i did at 1000 for example.
