Default Steering Wheel Change

I want a thicker steering wheel than my stock wheel.

I am considering between an XPA (from Suncoast), Techart and a Ruf.

I woudl love to find a used XPA, if you know anyone who has one. If not a used Techart.

I contacted the Ruf Auto Centre and they send me pictures of their steering wheel. Does anyone have any experience with this wheel? What do you think I could sell me 07 997S steering wheel (the circle air bag) for if I went with Ruf.

I just want a black leather from Ruf, the red bag and stiching is just an example.

Thanks

I update to the XPA and its a grt upgrade but a bit pricey. The RUF wheel looks amazing but I am afraid to ask how much?

Techart looks super, too. Way pricey..

Suncoast had the XPA for $1200 and I reused the OEM airbag.

If the prices were close, I , too, would have chosen the RUF if it felt "right" in hand.
Love the look.

That represents Porsche's marginal cost of the padded wheel over the standard wheel. But if you have to buy a whole new wheel, it costs more. If you're lucky, you can sell the old wheel and recover some of the cost of the new XPA wheel.

i have the fvd style wheel with aluminum sections, 340mm. non-leather airbag.
i will get my gt3 in few months so if anyone is interested let me know.
fyi, the adaptor for the 997 for this wheel is quite expensive. i think $2-300

I bought that wheel 3 days after I bought my car in 5/06, I love it.

i hate the factory sport wheel, so skinny and cheap vinyl feel. i had a local guy wrap my wheel 3 times and still couldnt get it perfect. aftermarket is the way to go rather than trying to have it done custom.
i actually sent my wheel to champagne (dallas guy) who does look like he might be one of the few who does top quality work.
he kept my wheel for a few weeks then told me he couldnt work on it due to time restraints and sent it back.
so even for the best in the business this is not an easy job

Does anyone have any experiences with the RUF wheel? It is thicker than the OEM Sport wheel? I found a used one but would like to know how it compares to what I have before I pull the trigger.

Thanks!
