If it uses the K&N filter then you are sacrificing engine life for some added flow-through. Those filters allow larger chunks through. And $1350 !! Didn't these guys hear about a depression?

Considering Werks1 intakes go for twice if not 2.5 times the price of this one, and most software tunes are just as much, I think its a bargain.

The mark-up on carbon fiber is seriously whack.

I think the filter that is made by porsche that uses two stock filters instead of one and is also made with carbon fibre..although you have to do a little more modification like cutting into the lid to allow more air in..looks alot better and I think cost less. I think its the same used in the factory modified 911s x-51 and I think suncoast sells them not sure.

I know...I don;t get it either. My prosthetic leg and socket is carbon fiber and you would never guess how much it costs!

You are correct. That would be the direction I would go if I were to ever make such a chance. Any modification away from factory is a net loss to the owner when it comes to selling their car down the road. If I wanted to get 15hp I would simply put in a higher octane fuel. In California we are routinely limited to 91 so our timing is automatically changed, affecting output.

Default I am sorry, but PORSCHE X-51 air intake...

which is a beautifully made carbon fiber box DOUBBLES the air intake sells for $1050 at SunCoast including all the hardware needed. The only thing is you will have to cut an additional intake hole...but it looks phenomenal and it looks like it belongs in the 911. It is elegant, classy, stock filtered, and it truly allowes more air intake since you have doubble the opening.
Look, I feel bad for the hardships all these companies are going to face in the future...but please don't insult me with "its a bargain" and "it ends at noon!!!!!" b.s. sales talk. I am with "Points"...except I think they will sell less than one.
Maybe someone should re'direct this to the "porsche sales...." its even more depressing over there...but at least its a dose of reality and things to come.

If it's dyno proven, the graph will show all the gains are in the last couple RPM.

also, $1350 = lol

Remember dyno results can be fudged by the operator input of the weather data among many other things. I would never ever trust a posted dyno graph unless I was there next to the dyno operator to be sure input information to the dyno computer was absolutly correct.

Aside from that I'd go with the Porsche X51 air box if I wanted to bling up up engine compartment...however you will not notice any gain with doing this because you've not changed the throttle body, ECU tuning and exhaust. Remeber everyone it is a complete package that will show you gains not just 1 single piece of the puzzle.

Ok, wheres the bargain? Somehow I fail to see where it surpasses the one offered by Porsche and what the extra $$ would get me......
