Default Road Trip across America

Departed today from LA on another trip across the US, making my way to the PSDS Competition Course.
Started out at 4am in the rain and 30 mils from home all lanes of the freeway came to a halt due to a jack knifed FedEx truck...what a start, sure screws up the days average speed.. Crossing the Cajon pass a Fog and rain, yes we have it all in SoCal.
Crossing eastern Arizona stiff crosswinds and flying tumble weeds, some were large and flying across the road 3-5 feet above the ground. Did manage to eat one!
Covered 736 mi today @26.8 mpg

MJones,

I always enjoy your travelogues and look forward to a few more pictures. (I borrowed your picture of the cop in your rearview mirror for an iMovie of one of my own roadtrips.) I'll assume you voted early.

Looks like fun! I'm always pleased to see people out there driving their 997s!

One of these days I need to figure out how to take HD movies that I have recorded and download them into my computer!!

Cool

Sounds like fun. Good luck, and safe driving. Across the America in my p-car is in my "bucket list".
I see the V1 there doing its silent service duty.
Keep us updated pls and keep sending those vista pictures!

Sounds like a great trip! Will be curious to know what top speed you achieve -- and on what stretch of highway...
