Default What product on the dash?

What do people use on their dash as a dressing? I don't like anything too shiny, I just want it to be protected?

Thanks

Sorry, couldn't resist. Kind of curious myself though.

Default Wart Remover

I've been trying to get that f*#king wart of my dash ever since I realized I made a big mistake ordering it. Sadly I think I'm going to have to use dry ice to get rid of it...

Every once and a while, I'll wipe it with a microfiber moistened with water, flow the dust out of the crevices with compressed air, and then using still moist microfiber that I just used to apply Zaino leather in a bottle to the seats, wipe the dash with that. I've got no idea if that is a good or bad thing, but it comes out looking just right to me.

Lightly moistened towel. Most of the time I will just sweep the dashboard with a dry microfiber towel I keep in the door storage compartment.

DO you have full leather or not? If full leather, treat as you would the rest of your leather. Past the leather, closer to the windshield I do not think thats leather.

If not, then 303 is your best bet. Treat the areas not covered in leather with this product.

When in the sun, try using a windshield shade whenever possible. Yea, it lools tacky, but it does save your dash.

One more vote for 303 aerospace protectant. Great stuff. I don't use it on a leather dash, just vinyl

As Deanski pointed out, it makes a difference whether your dash is leather or vinyl. I have a 1991 928GT that I bought new. It has over 182,000 miles of daily driving, and I have always used Vinyl-X (made by Lexol) on the vinyl dash. Unlike most 928s of that vintage, I have no cracks in the dashboard (I have also always used a windshield sunscreen). I have used Lexol on the 928's leather, but suffered the usual driver seat bolster wear.
On the 997, I still use Vinyl-X on the vinyl and plastic, but have been using Leatherique on the seats and other leather parts. I only have two year's experience with this product, so it is too early to say anything definative about long term protection. I also use a windshield sunscreen in the 997.
My personal opinion is that the most important factors are regular application of a quality product, and protection of the leather from direct sunlight as much as possible. By the way, Vinyl-X does not leave an Amour-all type sheen. It is more of a satin finish. Hope this helps.

Jerry
