To Tint or not......

tint doesnt "add value" or "decrease value" to whoever was saying that. Its always removable if you want to sell. If anything, something that helps inhibit UV rays will help keep the interior in better condition over the years. I say tint it, not too dark though, You might still want people to see you in it.
My SUV has 5% all around and 70% on the front window, I like tint.

Ok – 1st post so be gentle! I took delivery on my P-car in July. I didn’t tint mine even though I tinted my Mustang GT (which I still have). Thought about it a lot but can’t bring myself to do it yet - something about wanting to be seen behind the wheel of the 911. Will probably end-up doing it before next summer if I keep it.

There is no heat like July and August after 1" of rain and its 1:30 in the afternoon. Water is dripping in the air and its 95 degrees. Thats Delray Beach,Fla. You dont tint you cook.

I think SC can be as hot as Florida, its pretty brutal in August, especially as im from the UK where anything over 75 is a near heatwave
Maison - Do you have a pic by any chance of your tinted cab, i would love to see what it looks like, did you also do the back window in the cab top?
thanks again, i have to say this list seems awesome, glad i found it

I have roughly 30% tint (formula One) on my 997 and am very happy with it. I personally would not tint darker then 30%.

Consider some of the lighter tints that are often very effective at heat reduction. Here's mine from over a year ago:

I guess it depends on where you live. I personally don't like the look of tint on cars, especially higher-end cars. (looks good on a STi or EVO, though).
I've only lived in the bay area, CA and Fort Collins, CO in my entire driving-life, so can't comment on other areas...but Phoenix and Las Vegas are the only places I've ever visited (during summers) that were almost unbearable to walk around outside, let alone climbing into a car parked outside in the sun. Would tint really make that big of a difference on the inside temp when it's ~115degF outside??
