Windows Tinted - new "nano" tint, non-metallic
For those who don't want a very dark color but still desire good heat rejection, this film might work for you. I've only had it one day but certainly looks quite nice. From some angles it seems to have no tint at all, and from others only a slight tint. Comparable to 50% metallic in terms of APPEARANCE but with better heat rejection than ceramic (so they say).

Cost $499, it is Bekaert Solargard 50% www.solargard.com and was tinted locally at airparktint, this cool place that does the Lambos at the nearby dealer. www.airparktint.com

Hmmm, looks very nice. Sorry you couldn't make our drive yesterday. PM me your email address and I will put you on the "list." Congrats on your new car. Deven tells me it is just like his ... and his is awesome!

Yes the back window is done as well. The film is almost spooky as it looks untinted from some angles, and obviously tinted from others. Look again at the first pic above. Notice the passenger window is obviously tinted, but then you can see through the car and out the driver's window which is also tinted, but sure doesn't look tinted.

Very impressive. Have you noticed any lines where the guides on the door contact the inside of the glass? You can see these most noticeably when the car is recently washed and you roll up the windows. I am interested in tinting, but don't want any permanent scratches on the tint from the guides. Please advice....thx

I'll check for those door glides when I'm able to use the window after 2 days curing period.
Thanks for the plugs tip I'll look into it here very soon.

Tint looks good, I will check them out as they are not too far from where I am. I am leaning towards the Huper Optic tints (the one the dealership uses, and is done by Danny's). Their top of the line tint will do 98% IR reduction (as well as 99.9% UV), with almost 0 heat coming through the tinted windows. http://www.huperoptikusa.com/products_klasse.cfm . The only 'problem' is that there is a slight bluish hue to the tint and I am not sure what it will look like on the car.

That was what helped me lean this way, the lack of the odd ceramic tint color and the higher IR reduction on the new sungard product. You said 98 but some literature I've seen indicated that ceramic doesn't quite do that high for the IR and oddly enough the IR is what matters for heat (so they say).
But even there are no significant differences I trust these guys more than Danny's Family Car Wash. Airparktint did my M3 and my Honda, both with good quality installs. Who does the installation is just as important as what is installed.
No joke, there really is tint on the car!
The tint is only 50% light transmission so it will look fairly clear. Given the non-metallic content it looks even clearer than a metallic 50% would. I don't own one of the light measurement devices personally but when looking at all the samples side by side and using the heat lamp thing you can see there's something to it.
