Wife, brother, and DE instructor. The
wife finds the ride to rough. Wait till I
upgrade the coil-overs.

Friend and I took turns hammering my 997TT against my SL55 K2 for an evening. Let another good friend have seat time in my RS because he is getting one too,(his car is just here and he has yet to pick it up, screwed up priorities)

Other than my wife (and my mechanic), the only person who has driven my car is a fellow rennlister (and neighbor 5 blocks away who I met through RL), who I handed the keys when she was still new, at our first meeting, and told him to go for it!

Two... my fiance who is a terrific driver... and a close family friend...NEVER AGAIN!

The friend loves P cars but my god he is a terrible driver. It's a long story but enough to say that I was cringing from the moment he got in the drivers seat. Anyway it all turned out fine with no damage despite a slight offroad excursion! I learnt my lesson though and will NEVER let a driver without a PROVEN (by me) record of good driving get their hands on my car.

I do love my other half driving the car though.

Me and my son (who learned manual on his Mazda 3S). He did a great job driving the P-car (with me in the passenger seat, of course)! He may have been bitten by the bug.

I'd say my biggest pleasure with respect to owning a 997S was the day my 18 year old son took the wheel at his 1st PCA DE at Lime Rock. He did wonderfully and I was his "Pit Dad" checking pressures, helping with his helmet, keeping him hydrated, etc. The 1st 2 I didn't drive in order to make the event as comfortable as possible for him -- during the 2nd one I knew it was time for us to drive together at the same event once I watched him to a fantastic heel-toe downshift going into Big Bend.

Owning and driving a 997S brings a big grin every time I start up. Sharing a 997S brings even more joy especially when you can compare detailed notes with somebody else, like a son, on the nuances of the performance of the car -- especially on the track.

Yours truly, the better half, brother with driving skill, and P-car tech during service. That is it!

However, in the near future, I plan to surprise both son's and allow them a solo test drive with restrictions,

1. The salesperson who brought the car out. 2. Me. 3. My wife (for 2 feet because she had to move it in the garage which was really funny because she got scared because she didn't understand the clutch and brake - she doens't drive stick). No valet.
