As long as I'm in the car, and it's not on the track, I'll let any of my friends who want to drive. I've probably let at least a dozen people drive in the last 1 1 /2 years. It's a lot of fun to watch them find out for the first time what a Porsche is all about.
No one drives it without me in it (except for a mechanic testing it), and no one drives it on the track except for a DE instructor while I'm in the car, and only at 5/10ths.

Here are related threads from the past, including the one where Ron's friend bumped Ron's car into the SUV in front of them:

At Porsche? Who knows? Perhaps 3-4 of their employees? In the USA, my service manager's staff (2 more), another shop (1) and finally me, my brother in law, and one trusted valet here in town. 10

One of my good friends, the service manager at the Porsche dealership who delivered my car to my door, has been the only other person I know of (besides a service tech when I got my oil changed). Nobody else has asked to drive it. My wife has mentioned it a few times, but nothing has ever materialized. Just as well...

My wife, father-in-law (who owns a Guards Red C4S cab), one valet guy at a local steakhouse and the guys at Champion....when necessary. The wifey takes it roughly two days per month. She drives an X5 4.4, which she happens to like a lot, but occationally she needs a little P-car time.....which, of course, I fully understand. I find it so cute when she turns on the charm and asks for the keys

I don't really know but I'd guess about 11 so far
Someone at the factory off the line
Someone driving it for shipping in Germany
Someone driving it for shipping once in the US
Someone at the VPC
The trucker then someone at the dealership
The tech for PDI
My service advisor and the service mgr
Another tech for warranty work
And of course me

Besides Porsche employees at the factory, my salesman, service manager and techs my wife and one of my instructors at a DE. Actually for the 1st few laps it is required that your instructor drive and I do not have 1 single problem with that since they know what they are doing and are very respectful of your car.

So many that I can't remember the number. I took delivery in January and she was put into hibernation until mid March when it warmed up. The day of delivery I think 5 different people drove her including my wife and son. Any one of my friends or associates that can drive a stick and shows interest in the car gets the keys handed to them. Some say "wow, thanks, but I'm too nervous" -- I give them a ride and then ask again. What's the point of owning something like this and keeping it to yourself? Spread the happiness...
