Changes to service intervals are interesting. What is the current recommended replacement mileage for the spark plugs?

Looks like they have responded to our let's change the oil more often. The dealers must be happy as hell!!
I think our obsession with frequent servicing has caused Corporate to rethink it's position.
The dealer network has wanted 1 year intervals anyway, so why not sanction it!!
We are getting what we wanted!!!!!!!!!

Spoke to my dealer and there service dept yesterday and they said they firmly believe that the next major upgrade to the Carrera will be Direct Injection for 2009 and then a clutchless high performance type of transmission for the 2010 model year.

These are 2 improvments that mean a lot to me so I will have to keep waiting till then.

Thank you for the info.
I wonder if Porsche is changing to a cheaper plug or using the same and just shortening the interval?

that is the word among the dealers. Porsche wants to make sure the clutchless shifting transmission they use is down right reliable. the Ferrari/Maserati F! transmission works very very well BUT the thing needs serviced all the time and if you really use it you will need new clutch paks in under 10,000 miles. My P car dealer is also a Maserati dealer and they have F1 transmission problems all the time. I just got a 2006 in August of 2006 so I will be ordering the 2010 in 2009.
