Christ, why do I always have to have these Rice'd out cars chase up to me on the highway, then go back into the rightmost lanes, cutting off other cars as they dodge in and out almost responsible for a pile-up on the highway? Then, to find the tool in front of me at the same exit?
One of these days, one of them is going to cause a bad accident on I-95 all to just show off on how gee-wiz fast their car is until they loose control and cause an accident. There have been a few close calls.
Worst are the local streets where they have to ride your bumper as close as possible. Problem is even if you dust them off, they come back for more and in some cases, have almost rear-ended my C2S as they charge to the light. Most of the time, I'll just go off into a gas station, shop or anywhere to get them off, but, like flies to honey, they follow.
Other areas, they just admire the car with thumbs up etc, no racing or acting wreckless.

here's how it is. none of the players are a**holes. they wanna look at the car. some loose concentration on the road, therefore they slightly come into your lane. they keep up or cut you off so that they can see the car for longer.

Here's one experience I had which was a bit annoying- I was driving on I-68 westbound in Maryland heading towards Pittsburgh. I was about to pass two 18-wheelers when the one behind jumped out into the left lane. They formed a rolling road block for the next 10 minutes or so. I tailed behind the left truck a bit, obviously wanting to pass, but the driver did not move. Then cars behind me decided to pass me on the right and jump in front of me, as if they could do a better job! Eventually I just eased back in the right lane and took the next exit. I figured with me gone the truckers would have let eveyone go. I got back on the highway- sure enough no more road block and I zipped past them.
One thing I am a little concerned about- if the economy really tanks then I might want to be more careful about where I drive the 997- the bizarre emotions it incites could be magnified...

there's a technique to truckers and how a person can "talk to em" while driving their own vehicle. flash highbeems to allow them to cut over and pass, 2 highbeem flashes and it tells them that you'd like to pass, 3 brake presses(if they are behind) lets them know 2 things, either you're going to exit or they can pass on the left if they choose.
20-30 trips from VIR to NJ in the night time teaches you a few things about communicating with other drivers, especially 18wheelers that can run you over like you don't exist

Yep, you guessed it--the semi driver thought he was OK to get over and merged directly into the space I was occupying. Luckily, I was all over the brake pedal the minute I saw the idiot flash his brights.
That was almost road-rage in the making, but I was driving my logoed company truck and judging by the idiotic move the minivan driver had already made, he probably wouldn't even have understood what he did wrong, so I kept myself in check.
I WAS fuming for the next few minutes; people are so impatient that they don't even realize that the actions they take could get someone killed.

i learned it from observation, and the fear(and knowledge) that an 18wheeler could flatten my car without even a second thought. that i felt it would just make driving on highways safer for me and the truckers.
