yes, well, uh, Thats a great super charger install you have there. I'm sure you guys have been able to get the tune so it can deal with the boost well. Where is the water tank?

There, back on topic.

lol. Thanks!

Water tank goes in today. I will post more pics as I get them.

As for the tune, G.I.AC. does all of the software for VF-Engineering. No problems or concerns there.

Is your plan to use a water mixture or just water? Can you say the brand of the pump? It looks nice and light.

The system is treated just like the motor's cooling system. A mixture is a must. If not, the water would freeze. That would be bad news...

Not sure who makes the pump.

I am very interested in the size and location of the tank.

I don't believe there is a separate tank - additional pump yes but no extra tank

There is a small tank near the pump under the car. There has to be so the pump will always be primed.

Default Install update #2

More install pics. Things are coming along nicely. We are very excited to get it finished up.

Here is a couple pics of the charger itself. (pulley installed)

Picture of the throttle body removed.

Bracket about to be secured to the motor.

Charger and piping installed.

Here is a shot of the water to air intercooler

A considerable number of questions on this thread, and probably many soon to appear, would be answered by posting of the instruction manual for installing the supercharger system. Surely such a document exists.

I recently heard a rep from vf engineering, nik saran, on carcast with adam carolla, so I searched to see if anyone on rennlist has had any experience with their system.

Does anyone know how this install ended up and how the durability has been?

What would be nice is a wide shot of the entire engine compartment so that we can see how the entire package fits in there. I have seen other supercharger kits that were shoehorned in, a kluge job at best, and created nothing but headaches for the 997S owner.

What assurances do we have from you that this thing will work correctly as advertised? How many do you have under your belt? (996) (997)

It's been my experience that no one should want to be the first out the gate--there are just too many things that must be sorted out first.

Dyno plots will be posted in about a month.

What we will do is have the client drive the car for about a month. Easy driving for proper break in on the charger.

Once they do that we bring them back in for a belt tension check and dyno.

Please stay tuned.

Have a great day!
So you guys are running an air to water intercooler with the heat exchanger placed in the front center. Good location! Is the H/E your design or is it a Cobra unit, ect?

The kit works great. I've had mine for a couple of years thus far but a proper install is critical.
Adds lots of useful power and seems to be very reliable. (10,000+ miles and 1 DE)
No complaints from me.
