There are some real attitudes there. Really opened my eyes. The guy that likes to "light up" people while sitting behind them at an intersection really topped it all. What a dick.
I'm moving the detector in my Toyota Forerunner off the windshield glass and down in a concealed corner of the dash right now before I go home tonight. My V1 is hidden up above the rearview in my 993 so no need to move that one. I use my cruise control religiously on my commute and I know where Johnny likes to hide and sit with radar either "on" or likes to use it in "instant on" mode. After being tagged twice and ticketed once (airplane paced me) I am very careful. I think detectors only work in certain circumstances. Either way I don't need to have the thing in plain view given the comments from those officers. Nuff said, I need a CB. Anyone know if the CHP uses CB or what?
Thanks for the link...entertaining for sure, and I'm not surprised to see the different attitudes towards radar detectors (or the hazing for calling a mag a 'clip'!)

Wouldn't put it past 'em. I was in the SB area last night. CHP motor was in front of me as I exited the 101 N at Patterson and another one was behind me heading south on the 101 from SB at about 8PM on my way home. (May have been the same guy)
Thanks to the distincitive headlight pattern of the BMW bikes you can pick them up pretty quickly at night. I generally hang to the right and don't do a lot of lane changes, plus I keep the speed pretty reasonable.
Seems there are more CHP motors on the 101 these days. Every time I've been thru the Gaviota pass lately, there's some there. From that point north CHP does use planes (ask me how I know!)
They do not... but pro truckers do. I didn't have the patience for listening to the CB as it is an different language AND it is non-stop. The chatter on interstate 10 from Texas and La La Land will make you long for silence.
