Thanks for the x-post, that was a VERY informative read.

On the to-do list: hidden V1 and CB...

"Illinois Vehicle Code;
625 ILCS 5/12-503(c)

"No person shall drive a motor vehicle with any objects placed or suspended between the driver and the front windshield, rear window, side wings, or side windows immediately adjacent to each side of the driver which materially obstructs the driver's view."

$75 citation for Obstructed View"

We have similar a problem in Michigan.

YEARS ago most of the War Bonnet region of the PCA (in the Oklahoma area) ran with CBs. There is no denying that having good intel is important to running fast.

Another device that doesn't seem to be mentioned anymore is a scanner that was programmed state by state with active police and patrol frequencies,--and it gave you information on the proximity of those frequencies to your location. These seem to make a great deal of sense. That's another thing the police like to do. Talk on the radio. As such, it will also give themselves away.

I can see how even a simple factory-installed device like a sunvisor can be included in there,--"any object placed between the driver and the front windshield..." so it doesn't sound like a rock solid law. "Materially obstructs" sounds pretty subjective to me. My visor blocks the view of my V1.

Again - they somehow have connected speeding with unsafe operation. They do not indulge any sort of understanding of Driver Education, etc. How many "I like doing this... (to irritate and embarrass this person or that). Horrible.

Shadenfreude Freaks. Bullies in HS, and now they have a Gun, Nightstick, and an excuse and license to use them.

I found this site while searching for the legality/illegality of laser jammers in Colorado. I'm thinking of installing the SRX on my new cab. Anyone using one of these and, how easy is it for LEOs to figure out you have a jammer?

You have that right. One guy I remember from HS who should never have been handed a weapon is a cop today. (They wouldn't let him into the military,--too unstable).

Visiting those threads is a good way to get valuable intel on the enemy.

I drove up to the Porsche Parade in Portland last August - I heard someone say that there were about 6 Highway Patrol officers in all of Oregon because of budget reasons. I don't know if that's true or not, but we only saw 2 of them all the way from the California border to Portland, and back.

I bought a jammer called Phazer. You've probably seen it advertised if you are shopping for a jammer. I went through 3 units trying to find one that worked. None of them worked. I owned a radar dectector that I used in APBA Offshore boat racing to clock the racers in the bracket class. The radar gun worked perfect. The jammers could not jam it...we tried and tested it and tried!

I have a little walkie talkie type cb from radio shack. $99. I set it in the cup holder and it is the best piece of equipment against LEO. Between the Cb, Valentine 1 and driving in packs at the rear, I'e been ticket free for years. I travel around 5-6,000 miles a month and on the interstate highways I usually go around 80mph.

I think it would be cool to join their forum with the username:

Cop Killer

Just to mess with them and make them think twice when they pull someone over with the intent to ruin their day with a ticket.

This would never hold up in Illinois anymore (even if it is still on the books). The state has issued hundreds of thousands of "I-Pass" automatic tollway devices. Guess where the tell you you must mount them. If you guessed "the windshield" you're a winner!!
