Sand beige and windshield reflection
Hi everyone, i'm considering on buying an 997 with the full sand beige leather. But i was told that there was a reflection of this leather dashboard to the windshield.
So is the full sand beige leather a good choice ?
Thanks for answering me.

All light colored dashboards will produce some measure of glare on the windshield. See if you can test drive it in the sun to see if it'll be a problem for you. Quite a few here have that interior and perhaps they can shed some light for you, so to speak.

It will cause some problems during certain hours of the day,--worse for the cabs. I have the natural brown and it is also relatively light. Many are going the direction that that Crazy Canuck suggests,--2 tone.
Take a look at the natural brown, if you are considering the beige. It's a little darker and the quality is terrific!

There is a little bit of a reflection, but I don't find it an issue.

You will see a reflection on sunny days; however, if you wear polarized sunglasses, you do not see the reflection at all.
I've got the sand beige; if i had to do it again, I'd go two-tone.

I just got my new 991 Dark Blue Metallic with Luxor Beige interior. My salesman warned me about this but I got it anyway. Well I can tell you that the reflection is annoying and distracting. The solution is to wear polarized sunglasses. I had a 997 and it was not so bad but I think it was because of the angle of the windshield. The 991 windshield is more slanted/aerodynamic so the angle creates more reflection. I think Porsche should polarize the windshield straight from the factory.

As you've seen - lots of differing opinions. I had it on a C4S when I lived in Colorado - the reflection was very annoying and distracting. Best bet would be to drive one yourself and see.

You've probalby noticed that all modern dash's are disigned with a texture so they minimize glare. I'm sure leather would be a problem but it wouldn't keep me from buying it. A friend of mine worked for GM and was in charge of interior design and materials. She said the Armor All is the worse stuff you can put on your dash for glare. So keep the shine down and I'm sure you'll be fine.

I have had both.
Natural Brown is nicer.

I can tell you that the problem is day and night. The 991 has a long dashboard and it’s almost like a heads-up display on the windshield. I will polarize my windshield because it sucks to wear sunglasses at night. But with all that being said, Luxor Beige interior is awesome!
