Sand beige and windshield reflection

I have had 1 savannah beige 996, 1 997.1 sand beige, 2 997 black int (0ne full leather), and current 997.2 full leather SB, all cabs. I know the "issue" is glare but there are other things re int color too: how about all the "dust" particles you can see 5 minutes after you wipe the dash off the black interior? Or for us cab drivers, how hot black seats w black dash get in the sun? I liked every 911 I have owned/driven. I liked the sporty look of the black interiors but they also felt "smaller" or more confined inside. It comes down to personal preference! And sunglasses are cool!

My 993 Targa was Cashmere (beige) with black dash. That's how Porsche built cars with light colored interiors WHEN THEY BUILT CARS FOR DRIVERS. I brought that up with some PCNA execs at the NY Auto Show a few years ago, and they just shrugged and said it is Porsche AG's fault. I gueaa light dashboards don't bother them in Stuttgart since they get so few days with sun.
Heck, even Buicks have black dashboards.
Has anyone found a solution other than polarized sunglasses? Has anyone heard of a maker of a black cloth piece that will lay on the dash? I thought about dying the offending dash-top black. But, that would preclude Concours.
Ideas anyone?

I never noticed this issue with the Sand Beige dash in my 997 Turbo Cabriolet.

I had a black exterior / sand beige interior on a 997.1 C4S coupe (in Colorado too) and the reflection from the dash on the windshield in certain times of the afternoon and morning was very noticeable and distracting. As much as I liked the color combination, I would not buy another 911 with sand beige interior - personal preference.

I've got sand beige and I can see the reflection but it doesn't obscure my view. However mine's the full leather dash, maybe it's less shiny than the vinyl one? My Corvette has a black vinyl dash and the reflection is way more prominent. I've driven 997's with black interiors and to me it looks like the same reflection just a different color.

OK. Now that we have bounced this around for a few years, what can be done about it? Sure, polarized glasses work. But, that doesn't get to the cause of the problem. And, yes, one can always order a black/tan interior. Which is a lot less expensive since the law suit. But, what do those of us who already have cars with reflective dashboards do to stop it?
I see that Covercraft/Dashmat has covers for $38 - $54, as do a couple of others. However, they look pretty crappy.
Anyone have any other ideas on how to get rid of glare short of replacing the beige dash with a black one?
