DSG is fantastic. Makes the 997's Tiptronic feel like a Powerglide.

Good points there. The SMG and F1 type transmissions are manual transmission that can occasionally masuerade quite poorly as an automatic. The tip is an automatic transmission that occassionally quite poorly can masquerade as a manual. I have a 6sp, and would not want a tip, but if they ever come up with an SMG or DSG or F1 type I will get that.

Audi DSG is an amazing thing to use. In five years every automoblle manufacturer will offer their take on it as an option and in ten years it'll be the only 'box in town. Everyone can be a racer and everyone's beloved can tootle home in 'D' after dark.
(Interesting, though to see how it lasts; Audi's TT DSG has only been around a couple of years and I'd be keen to know what the service/glitch record looks like.)

As someone that has to have a automatic due to the loss of my left leg a few years ago I have a Tip in my 06 C2S. Had a 6speed in my 02 BoxsterS and that was fun. I can't wait till Porsche steps up and puts in a auto-clutch manual sequencial transmission like the Ferrari F1 and new Audi DSG.

Today I found myself in stop and go traffic on the expressway. I was shocked, shocked, that while only going two miles per hour the transmission stayed in second gear.
Why oh why did I get a tip?

Since I drive a tip and that means I don't know how to drive a real car I have to ask: does it come with driving lessons? I understand that there is an extra pedal on the floor. Do you work that with your hand or your foot???
I'm not a race car driver but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.
