What do you think of the supple leather option. Is is as durable as the other leathers. Does it belong on a Porsche? Is it too Lexus?

My friend has it in her Porsche. In my opinion, it is very Lexus. I would not get this option unless you can see it in person first.

Not a big fan of supple. It makes the interior look too aged, if you know what I mean.

I like the way the supple looks in real life and I think it is nice that it doesn't have the perforations, but I agree that it is something that you should see in real life before deciding.

From what I can tell, it is the same leather as the full leather but without the holes and it is gathered. If you keep it cleaned and conditioned, it should age fine.

The word "supple" shouldn't be applied to anything Porsche!

I had supple leather in a 996 and I could take it or leave it. Next time, I'll leave it.

I actually prefer the perforations...

I like it but would not do it again. I was told the leather was better quality and I do not think it is. One also has to purchase the entire seats in leather to have the supple which was 1,200 + the 350 or whatever it was which is just too expensive. My car has that option + floor mats and that is all. I like to keep it simple.

I would only buy the perforated seats. The supple looks like it needs a face lift or like some fat slob played butt bouncie on it. Porsche has great lines inside, some sharp and others curved. The supple just looks out of place in it--almost sloppy. Forget it!

Lori - I have the supple leather in my '04 C2 and I REALLY like it. There is not a lot of additional leather so it doesn’t have the “loose or ruffled" look. I also like the fact that it does not have the stitching running down the center of the seat (front to back) which the non-supple seats have. I think the supple leather gives the interior a richer look.

I don't care for the look of perforated leather. To me, the perforated leather has the appearance of being "low grade" leather. While it in fact is NOT low grade, it just appears that way, IMO. Also, dirt gets into the perforations. My wife's MB CLK has the perforated leather and it is a real pain to clean, and hard to apply a leather conditioner without clogging up the holes with excess conditioner, which will attract and hold more dirt if you don't get the excess conditioner out. Ask me how I know...

But like others have said, see it in person and, if possible, sit in the supple leather seats and then the regular perforated leather seats for comparison purposes.

I liked it over standard leather on the 996, but on a 997, I don't like the ruffled appearance. The standard leather on the 997 is fine, not quite as 'tight' as the standard 996 leather, and looks damn good.

I'd probably opt not to go with supple in a 997, even though my past two 996's had it.

I agree, and wish I had ordered supple leather with my full leather option.

I like the way it looks on 997s equipped with it. Looks and feels much more expensive than the perforated leather. And it should be easier to maintain.

Sport Seats are a must IMO!

Soft ruffled leather on seat center is NOT available with Sport Seats.

Had it in my 996 and have it in my 997 and like it better than standard in both.

I'll agree with that, Gota - it's not easy to clean. However, I have the standard full leather and I believe that the seats match the character of the car perfectly. I saw a C2S at the dealer's Monday with supple leather, not sure if it's for me.

It was definitely high quality, though. Maybe in a car with a lot of wood trim, et al... not with aluminum or carbon, though. Just MHO!
