Zaino has some good products. The Z5 PRO is new and supposelly very good.

I still use Z9 Leather Cleaner and Z10 Leather In A Bottle. Z9 and 10 is the best stuff I have ever used on leather.

I begin using REJEX which is a sealant about a year ago on the exterior paint, glass, and wheels. It is the perfect product if you don't want to kill yourself detailing.

Default Zaino

See my post in the other thread.

Zaino does make any finish look outstanding, but it does take time and proper finish care. It WILL highlight defects (marring, spiderwebbing, swirls) if these are not removed first. If you have a finish which is free from swirls, Zaino will make it look very glossy, lasts a long tim, is very slick.

The new Z5-Pro does hide better, but not as good as a glaze. Glaze uses oils/clay to fill minor defects. From a glaze you can use a wax. Problem using a glaze with Zaino is you will wash-out most of the effects/filling prior to Zaino. Zaino requires a fresh, clean, oil-free/wax free finish. A high alkaline wash will remove oils/waxes. Then Zaino will bond to the paint.

With ZFX, you can coat the finish 3 times in one sesion. It goes on VERY VERY THIN!! To the point where it's hard to see where you applied it. If you apply too much, it streaks because the top layer cures first, but the lower layer of the heavy amount is still wet and will when wiped off, it beings to streak. Then you know you have too much on. One ounce will do the entire car and still have some left. If it streaks, mix up Z7 wash with distilld water and spray the area and wipe off.

Best effects and ease of use, spray the finish with Z6 or Z8 before and after each coat. Spray your applicator pad lightly to help Zaino flow on the finish. It will be very glossy/wet looking once done. After Z5-Pro and I'm happy, I switch to Z2-Pro which has higher optical properties and is very clear.

I do Z5-Pro one day, next day I do Z2-Pro. This lets Zaino cure/bond with the paint the longer it sits w/o disturbing it. Then watch the water bead and see how easy washing becomes after that!

Use it on wheels! Very easy to remove brake dust afterwards. It's one of the sealants that can stand the heat from brakes.

You can always call Sal Zaino and ask him directly. He will assist you in every aspect in using Zaino.

Deanski,

Default Sonus

That kit sounds good exept I'd not go with the #1 as it's the most abrasive. I'd get #2 and #3 from Sonus as they are very mild. The Klasse sealant is fool-proof. AIO is a cleaner/sealant and does a nice job. The Sonus Ultra-Fine clay works very well, the towels are top notch as well.

Some of us in the field will use AIO as a pre-cleaning before Zaino. The pre-VOC Klasse AIO is what works best for prep before Zaino. Or, just leave the AIO on and use the Klasse Gloss sealant and then you could even top it with a wax if you want deeper look. If your finish is silver, one wax I will always go to is P21S. That makes silver metallic POP!

It all depends on what you are looking for in detailing your finish. How much time etc.

Deanski

I'd shy away from Rejex. It's look has a "Saran-Wrap" look to it.

Zaino works well... It takes a bit more time for first time users. Sonus kit looks good, just as I siad, I'd substitute a finer polish for Sonus #1. I'm sure your finish is pretty damn good, so I'd ask to swap Sonus 1 for Sonus 3.

How much time and will you be doing this in the sun?

EEK! I HATE those things!

I'd stay with a sealant for ease of removal from the impact. A QD spray may not remove them as easy. In fact, once baked in the sun, they really become difficult. Then it's up to washing to get those off or at least loosen them and make them softer for a QD to remove, but you'll be folding the towels quite often so you do not drag what remains from them back over the paint creating marring.

Hey Rob: This is a good place for car care info. You don't have to sign up; just read. They eventually cover it all.

No don't do that! You'll kill all the effects of Zaino AND you're just adding another sealant on top of a superior sealant for no reason except to get that plastic-wrap look to it.

Just leave Zaino alone! You just need to maintain with Z6 or Z8 spray, that's all.

I would add the following:

1. Poorboys S&W and Wheel Sealant
2. Zaino's leather conditioner
3. Aerospace 303 (for leather and rubber that gets sun)
4. RaggTopp Cleaner and Protectant
5. Eventually you need a PC.
