How many have actually attended PDE?
I was curious as to how many have actually attended PDE. How many plan to attend in the near future and how many are repeat offenders.
I attended the two day class a few weeks back and can’t wait to go back for the Masters class. It was like Disneyland for car enthusiasts.

It is outrageously cool isn't it? Serious, Master's is a whole 'nuther level. Have your heel toe down pat and it'll be epic!
One of highlights of my life so far was having Hurley Haywood critique my driving from the passenger seat in a two lap, flat out run and he said, "Good work, well done. You're doing fine."
Did I mention that Mr. Haywood is in the racing hall of fame and has won Le Mans outright 3 times?!?
God I love PDE.

I've been to PDE at Sebring for the first course and Barber for the Masters course.
Both were a great fun. The tracks could not have been more different. It is great to watch the 12hrs of Sebring and know that I've been on that track. Both courses were run with German precision. The instructors communicated very well. Never having been to a course like this before I didn't know what to expect.. When you do something for a living it is not always easy to communicate those skills to a novice, yet they managed to have a good grasp on this.
The hot laps were fun and very humbling. I had never been in a car where the driver continued to accelerate towards a car with it's brake lights on.
Have fun,

I started doing DE's with the BMW club back in 1992 with the Jersey Chapter. Haven't done any DE's or PDE's with Porsche yet since I just got my P car in January.
Best and most fun driving school I ever attended was the BMW International Driving school Nurburgring. Even with airfare this is probably cheaper than doing a PDE This is held once a year through the BMW club and is attended by around 300 students from all over the world. I did it in '97 and '98, taking first place on the graded lap in '98 in the American group ( The trophy is still sitting on the desk in my office). My co-driver took 3rd place. I'd say we were a good team It was a blast and I'll never forget it. Heck it's the greatest track in the world!!!

I'm Guilty!!
Have done it mutiple times and will go again!
Barber is one of the Most techbical tracks in NA and hard to Master!
PDE in not a "racing school"
The capabilities of the Porsche are SO far above what most peoples abilities are...so you think that you can drive, nah, you can't.
PDE should be required by every Porsche owner.
What are the reasons that you don't or have not attended ??
Time??...make the time, you only go around once.
Expensive (money) ? You chose to buy a Porsche, you can afford it. (whose kidding whom)
I don't like lead / folllow and want in car instruction. The PDE system works! There were a couple of guys from the Chicago area PCA who had multiple DE's under there belts that raved at how great the PDE lead follow system worked vs an in car instructor.
You can go to a Community College or a top tier University for an education.
PDE is Ivy League.
Stop making excuses...just attend PDE!!

I attended PDE and the Masters PDE. The instruction is top notch and the appreciation for what a Porsche can do grows immensly regardless of how much you love the brand. I was interested in racing and the groundwork laid at PDE along with Panoz (some instructors do both schools) will give you the training and confidence to race at a high level at the club level. Highly recommend to anyone that loves Porsches!
