Default Even rainy road trips are fun in the 997 (+img)

Even though the weather was drizzly and overcast I was itching to take the p-car out for a little drive. I decided to head over the GG Bridge and into the Marin Headlands to Point Bonita lighthouse. Thought I'd share a few pics I snapped along the way:

Fun steep road. The lighthouse is way out there at the tip.

Point Bonita Lighthouse.

View from the bridge. It was really windy when I was there and they only let 1 person walk across the bridge at a time.

It's about a 1/2 mile walk from the parking to the lighthouse, but this is the view along the walk.

The view looking North.

The ride

Remember to take a camera along on your road trips to show us your local roads.

Nice picts up North! I live in the south bay if/when I get my ride depending on the strike delay I plan on taking many pictures... mainly around Carmel, Monterey, Aptos, Santa Cruz..

By the way what kind of camera do you use?

Various flavors of Nikon dSLR (d2x in this case). On this ride I was trying out a new fisheye lens - I kinda like the effect in the 2nd shot, but it's probably too much of a novelty to get serious usage.

This is the first car that I've enjoyed driving in the rain.

Yeah Stig, awesome photography as usual.
My favorite is of the view peering down the catwalk bridge. That's National Geographic material. That fisheye isn't that aggressive at all. It's actually quite pleasing. What is it, a 16mm?

I know how you feel. I was driving back to LA from Indian Wells when it started snowing on the 10 near Idyllwyld. My 964 has only ever seen snow on the mountain tops, much less touch it in 12 years of ownership. I'm glad I didn't take my 997.
And NYC is at 60 in winter. Go figure.

Nah, but thanks. I have sold a few and had a few published, but I doubt it'll ever even cover the cost of the gear.

Thanks, that one of my favorites too.

It's a 10.5mm, but with crop factor it's just about 16 as you guessed. Below are a couple that show the distortion more:

For this one I held the camera through the sunroof.
