You are right, math was not really emphasized in school but it is indeed binary addition. The intent is to reflect the concept that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts or synergism as it applies to medicine.

Maybe you can understand it in another way. Just imagine that your personal mechanic and fellow Porshe owner was as enthusiastic about your Porsche's maintenace and performance as you are and as good a driver as Walter Rhorl and as good a tuner as Alois Ruf.

He could diagnose and fix problems that no one had been able to fix and alert you about others before you even new they existed. He just seemed to have a 6th sense about what could be the cause of that noise or vibration you barely notice.

He kept meticulous maintenace and performance records for your car and was personally aware of your driving style and ability. In fact, he would regularly go with you to the track with the proper onboard computers to see how you and the car were performing and while at it, he would give you tips that would not only make you faster around the track but would help to extend the longevity and durabilty of your car.

And last but not least, he also was as meticulous as OCBen about maintaining the appearance and finish of your beauty and his personal car would pass an inspection by OCBen with flying colors.

That is the kind of mechanic that I would love to have for my 997 GT3 when I finally get it. He would, in my opinion, be practicing "synergistic mechanics"

Now transfer this appproach to medicine and this is what I call synergistic medicine. That is what I strive to accomplish each and every day in my practice.

synergistic treatment sounds like a fancy explanation for chiropractor. Have a friend that is a chiropractor and he uses the same explanation.

I am going to switch my specialty to synergistic medicine and "diagnose and fix problems that no one had been able to fix and alert you about others before you even new they existed" people will think I "seemed to have a 6th sense about what could be the cause of that", and then I'm going to ask Coochas to do the same, and then we will conquer the world. And we will give GT3's to everybody.

Excuse my further stupidity, but do you need a degree to do all those things, or will A GED suffice?
I'm pretty sure you don't invent that specialty if you actually can get accepted to med school.

I've witnessed a fair amount of arrogance in the hospital, but this sets a whole new record. The last guy practicing chelation in our county is now on the lamb.
I think I'm about to vomit. AS

I'm not a big believer in "alternative" medicine but that last assessment was unecessarily harsh.

"Physician: I specialize in synergistic medicine emphasizing optimal health and longevity and serving those that seek more than disease mangement"

It is amazing that my response to the question " what do you do for a living" has aroused so much negative emotion from some.

I stand by what I said and do and I am very proud of it.

I look forward to going to work with great anticipation and at the end of the day I feel fulfilled and satisfied that I have helped my patients. The proof that my approach works is not dependend on how many degrees I have on my wall or on how many other physicians agree with what I do. It is demonstrated by the many satisfied patients that I have and the fact that I make great money doing what I love.

And what exactly do you do that's so important Icon (other than, obviously, post the pictures of the subject of your wet dreams as your avatar)?
