Welcome WC. Sounds like a great car.
Were you voyeuring for a while?...I notice your join date is 11/05 but this is your first post!
In any event - welcome and enjoy. Try to keep it under a hundred on the way home.

Dave, I think the term is lurking. Get your mind out of the gutter.

I can't, I can't. But I appreciate the positive reinforcement.

Wcanon, welcome! I kind of came out of the M5 into the 997 also (well, in the great 2005 car swap, traded the 993, ordered the 997, ended the M5 lease, bought the SUV, and then bought the 997).

You will notice that the 997 is quite lighter and much more agile. But nothing beats the 'ole M5 surge of acceleration!!!

Do you hear that sound of clicking away? Its the flames coming down the info highway because I posted the part in italics.

I'm not sure if you realize, but if you don't post pictures on your next response your post will be automatically deleted.

if i am not mistaken, the 997s has a better power to weight ratio than the last generation m5 and the carrera has better acceleration as well.....subjectively the c2s felt significantly faster and better handling than the m5....the m5 is a monster for a full size sedan but i think one needs to have the new m5 to go with the carrera s....
