Strut tower brace?
Does anyone have an opinion on strut tower braces? I assume the car is so rigid that a strut tower brace will have little effect. Any thoughts?

I ran one the I picked up at the factory on my 81 911 and it really helped tie it together. The suspension design of the latest cars is so strong that it's really not needed. Besides, there is really very little space in that area to run a cross beam of any size. In addition, since it was literally designed and built around the stresses introduced by a 19 inch wheel it is pretty bulletproof.

I have a 997S Cab and there is a lot of flex in the Cab's. Much more then my vette conv. but it was designed from day one as a conv. and not a cpe that had it's top cut off. If there is a practicle way to firm things up a bit I would be interested and don't get me wrong this is a great car.

I'm saving my tower brace from the other car buty don't think I have the real-estate to fit it in. Seems like it will have to be a fairly thin thing,--with custom attach points.

strut braces...
evolution motorsports makes a front and rear brace for the 997....I have not tried them yet so I can't say how much it will help. Its effects can be felt more in an open car.

Front strut braces are also available from Racing Dynamics and Cargraphic. Said to fit completely below the 3 plastic covers over the battery box area. They look good, I can't speak as to their effectiveness.
