If I order a turbo, can I keep my Nav system from my 997? Its just a module, right?

Yes you can, the whole thing comes out and can be put into either 987 Cayman or another 997 - I had my one taken out!

Does it make sence not to fuss over used 997 cars if they dont have nav and I want nav. It seems that it can always be added. it that true.

Yes, you alway can add Nav. However, the pirce will be a little bit more than it was done at the factory.

Why even consider doing so

It's a bit more than just a module...there's the GPS antenna and all of the interconnected wiring to make it work..

Get it factory installed

... dont forget you'll get the latest up-to-date nav DVD too if you get it factory installed, so you dont need to pay for an update.

fwiw you're looking at $1k in labor, even though book time is ~3.5hrs.

If you're die-hard about getting nav, keep an eye on ebay for the units to pop up. Managed to get the dvd nav unit for $150. Works like a champ.

All I need is a sw update to modB and the 04.2005 dvd. If anyone wants to "loan" me a 04.2004 to 10.2004 dvd while I'm waiting for the update sw, PM me.
