Coochas,
If this is anything like the Porsche store that was in The Forum Shops in Las Vegas, it carries some of the Tequipment (sp?) apparel line. They had everything from clothing (t-shirts to leather coats), keychains, crystal models, to custom fit leather luggage for the car. Very nice quality, along with the price to go with it. Nice store for Porsche merchandise, most of which you don't see to many people with.
These stores are not affiliated with Porsche AG, so you cannot buy Tequipment clothing products there from what they've told me, 'cuz I tried once. Apparently, they are a separate company altogether.
These specialty shops are called Porsche Design boutiques, and affiliated with Porsche by name only. Go figure.
We've had one for years at our mall. My wife's bought me a few items there. Here's their website:
Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG [Porsche Design Group], based in Bietigheim-Bissingen, is a majority-owned subsidiary of Porsche AG in Stuttgart. The company’s activities are focused on the business areas Porsche Design, Porsche Design Driver’s Selection and the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria.
Thanks peeps.
I started looking through that link Ben and the first thing I saw was a Porsche Design faucet! I now recall reading about Porsche Design and its 'separation' from Porsche,...I think it's one of the Porsche kids who had started it and for whatever reasons it was completely removed from Porsche AG.
I don't know specifically about the store opening in Boston, but Porsche NA is opening Porsche Boutiques in upscale locations in the US. I know stores are going on 5th Ave in NY, Rodeo Drive in CA and another somewhere in Miami. The are aligned with Porsche autos and you will be able to buy Tequipment. The stores are there to continue building the Porsche brand and, of course, generate revenue...it is Porsche after all.
I know this because one of my company's suppliers just supplied Porsche NA with some equipment for these stores. Last time I met with him I was waiting for delivery of my 997, he saw my Windows background, and a conversation ensued.
I'm just still trying to see if I can work a discount through him...at least once.
I tried to order the black Porsche varsity jacket through them and they told me I had to go through my dealer for that, which I did, and used my PCA discount, which they won't honor there.

Those bastards.
I am excited about this store though,...now each month when I make th Barnes & Noble rounds for new car mags I can check new additions to the P-store.

It is the same "Porsche kid" who designed the original 911.
From the Porsche website:
The shape of the 911 classic sports car has become a pillar of the company’s brand identity
Ferdinand Alexander Porsche celebrates his 70th birthdayStuttgart. Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, shareholder and honorary chairman of the supervisory board of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, celebrates his 70th birthday on December 11, 2005. Born in Stuttgart, the eldest son of Ferry Porsche headed up the Stuttgart-based sports car maker’s design studio from 1962 to 1972 – the period during which the Porsche 911 and the 904 race car were created. In 1972, he established his own design studio, relocating it two years later to Zell am See in Austria. During the decades that followed, he designed men’s accessories such as watches, spectacles and writing instruments, which were marketed under the “Porsche Design” brand. Working with a team of a dozen designers, he also styled a host of industrial products, household appliances and consumer products for well-known international companies. Today, the studio in Zell am See is one of the most highly-regarded design studios in the world.
