Same here on an '06 car that's on the boat to the country as we speak.

I would assume as we head out of peak sports car season dealers will start to be more flexible on price. I have been scanning the inventories for a while and am finally starting to see multiple cars out there that I would be interested in. Also 2006's are starting to show up on the inventory lists as well.

hehehe, yep! I've been scanning the inventory since Sat, the 9th. 06's started showing up on the websites on Tuesday and the deal was done by Thurs.

'06's should be on the lots at the end of the month.

So what do you guys think? Hold off for a bigger discount, or go for the $4k discount?

I think 4k off right now is exceptional, 7k has got to be an extreme rarity. If you can wait till Winter, the $7 might be commonplace. To me the $3k difference is not worth the wait. $.02

You should get at least 5k off. My salesman called me and said he had a red and black for 75k and I might be able to get it for 70k.

MoneyBiz was the $5k Off for a 2005 or a 2006?

Depends where you're located ---
I can tell you that in Scottsdale/Phoenix there will be little if any discount -- nothing stays on the lot for even a minimal amount of time. I'd jump at $4000 off MSRP given the opportunity.

The dealership is closed now, I'll find out tomorrow. I'm in no rush I have to get rid of my m3 and that is going cost me $$$.

Anyway, I was also offered $7000 off on a 997S but lightly optioned. The price with both discounts would've been only $1000 difference in price but decided to go with a base since I thought it was more than enough car for the road. I still think that.

When I told salesman here in Socal I spoke to originally when I was in the market for a 997 the discount I received, he was shocked to say the least. He said it was probably one of the best deals he's heard of on a 997, base or otherwise.
i check all over the country this spring and could not get more than 4k off a 997S, and that was a 92k list car.....7k off a lightly optioned car would be amazing....i would assume the car would come in well under 80k before taxes!!! used ones are going for more than that.....

I just drove that red/black car last Saturday. I've got an 06 coming next week. I lucked out when I called and found out that they had an 06 silver/black on a boat that hadn't been been preordered. Not much of a discount though.
