I was thinking of installing the same fab speed exhaust on my 997,but was hearing conflicting things about warranty, my dealer salesperson says it will not affect the warranty, some people
I have spoken to say not to listen to a salesperson that it would void certain parts of the manufacturer warranty. this is the reason I haven't done it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

There is actually a law on the books, automakers can't coherce you into using their parts for disposable items, ie mufflers, etc. Maybe TD could chime in for some more free legal advice!

I'm sure they could hang you out to dry if some kind of an expensive engine problem came up and they knew you had a modified exhaust. It sounds like a personal decision as to whether it's worth the risk.

Mufflers will not void the warranty, Porsche used to use Techart mufflers on their PDE cars before they started selling PSE. I wouldn't mess with anything between the MAF and the cats, that would be trouble.

I also had the fabspeed headers and exhaust install many months ago - I also think it is awesome, with the headers and exchaust the power and reposen has increase on my 996. Good luck and enjoy - I am still on the fence with the 997 trade as of now.
