Default Alas, 911 cup holders

I finally discovered them by accident today while opening the glove box. Right there above the glove gox is a flap that, when opened, reveals buttons for two cupholders. Cupholders in a 911. Wow! My wife is ecstatic. What's next? A mini wine cellar?

Those are not cupholders - they are handcuffs doubling as stirrups for your wife.

Actually I find these cup holders the most user friendly in any Porsche! You guys know that once they are out you can pull on them to make them bigger. I can get a large cup of coffee in these things with zero wobble. I like them....

So much for a "Perfect Delivery" from your salesperson...what else did they fail to explain or demonstrate??

They work well for cups that can be closed/sealed but don't put a Starbucks to-go cup in the one over your LCD screen... trust me on this one...

Yup. Going over some railroad tracks also demonstrated the folly of this approach. Now a get a flat lid and drink the coffee when I get to work...

I guess you can call that a form of Porsche Roadside Assistance. Not only will a Porsche help you pick up chicks, you can now keep 'em too!

they are quite possibly the most over-engineered cupholders ever found in a car.

they have like 10 moving parts... its almost a work of art in itself. a delightful little surprise.

mabye the cupholder design team should be assigned to fix the RMS problem.

They probably outsourced it like the rest of the car.
