Default Carnewal pedals installed

I ordered Carnewal's pedals last weekend, Gert confirmed the order Monday, parts went out Tuesday, received them in L.A. Wednesday. I installed them last night. It's not a particularly difficult job and probably only took about an hour. You do, however, have to be somewhat of a contortionist, and 24 hours later I'm still aching! (Time to get back to the gym, I think!)

The instructions say to remove 1 screw for the dead pedal (and replace it with the new dead pedal on top), but I couldn't find any screws, so I drilled all 3 new holes. On the accelerator, I put the new pedal over the old one. I could not figure out how I would ever get a nut on the back of the lower part of the accelerator pedal (it seems blocked by the plastic backing), so I used the provided nut and bolt for the top hole but drilled a 2mm hole (instead of the instructed 4mm for the bolt) on the bottom and used a sheet metal screw instead, which seems to work quite well. Drilling the brake pedal (only metal one) was not difficult, but I started with titanium drill bits as someone on the board had recommended.

Nice mod - not only looks good, but I like the feel of these pedals. I am virtually certain they are the same as Ruf's, just a lot cheaper at Carnewal but without the Ruf name (which would be cool to have but don't think its worth $150+ extra). These pedals are very high quality and very nicely made.

Very nice indeed! They look just like my RuF pedals. I paid $415 (incl. shipping), how much did yours cost? BTW is it just the optics of the pic or do I see your clutch pedal hanging a bit lower than the brake pedal?

BobbyC - Pedals on sale at Carnewal now for 250 Euros including FedEx shipping, total was $328. Good eye - yes the clutch pedal is very slightly lower (thanks to a clamp that slipped slightly).

Jim, looks great. Do the pedals allow to aproximate the throttle pedal more to the left closer to the nrake for easier heel&toe? I found the pedal placement on the 997 to be not as good as in the 996 for this, so I was looking for aftermarket alum pedals like these when mine 997S arrives. Thanks.

Carlos - too soon for me to tell, but I think the larger accelerator pedal including lower part should help. There are other pedals available, such as rennline, that are designed for heal-toe.

Carlos...yes, these pedals help with heel-toe. My Ruf's are almost identical that's why. The throttle pedal is a little wider (even in the upper half) than the stock pedal so when it is mounted flush on top of the stock pedal not only does the throtle pedal come closer to the left, nearer the brake pedal, but is also raised 3/8" thus bringing the throttle pedal closer to the brake pedal vertically.

Now I can heel-toe with ease, earlier it was much more cumbersome.

Did the RUF pedals come with the footrest also? The Carnewel kit is all 4 pieces for $328 US (plus you will get a bill from Fedex for US Customs for around $10 in a week or so)..

Yes my set also included the dead pedal (footrest). I don't have to pay customs duty since mine came from RuF Autocentre in Dallas. Contact Hans Hoffman there if anyone is interested in Ruf products...real good guy to deal with and I have no other affiliation with Ruf other than a being a satisfied customer.
