you are not selling your car you are selling your place in line and I think people here feel that this may not be the place for that .

If my post is inappropriate please remove it. The reality is it's impossible to sell the car once I buy it because of sales tax. I am pretty sure no one would object if I bought it and then sold it for a profit.

I respect the board so if this violates any rules please remove.

Hddude, i can certainly appreciate not wanting to dicker. It is too bad that the negotiation process can't be smoother most of the time. At least you're honest..

I am NOT a speculator! If I had to guess I will end up keeping the car and driving it in a couple of weeks.

even if he is so what?

he is a rennlist member and he is offering somebody the chance to step into a car that may suit them at a small discount to MSRP, and he is disclosing what deal he negotiated on the car. I don't see what the fuss is about.

Just my opinion but, I don't see why anyone should be looking to make a profit on something they don't actually own.
As far as being a speculator or not, he has already stated that he is not and that's fine with me however if he is then the only thing he is being honest about is the deal he was able to make.
But it brings into question his original intent. OH997 is the only one who knows what that was.

All you would have to do is ask my dealer how much grief I gave him everytime he told me my car was going to be delayed and you'd know I was not a speculator. I want the car. I'm just struggling about paying for before I can use it.

IMHO, pretty sleezy post. If you're not a board sponsor, your advertisement does not belong here.

Sleezy? Change the rules and I'll change my post. If I went out tomorrow and bought the car for 80K and resold it for $90K would you be OK with that?

There is much more to the story than this and I'm not getting into it. The bottom-line is if someone is interested in moving up in the queue they can do it.

As I have said before I will most likely keep the car. I appreciate the insult however.

Seems there is a pretty clear consensus:
1. Doesn't matter the reason you are not taking your place in line to purchase the car.
2. If you are trying to sell it for more than you will pay, you are tyring to make a profit (others have called this "speculating.")
3. Offer it for whatever discount you have arranged, otherwise put it in the classifieds--not appropriate for this board.

so you are saying if anyone else has offered their car on the board and they are making a profit they should move it as well?

You are also saying that the fact that I tied my money up and have been without a car for 3 to 4 months has no bearing?

Look, if the post is inappropriate I have asked for it to be closed or moved. If you don't like it change the rules.

Furthermore, based upon the responding posts, you probably have damaged, more than advanced, your prospects to use this medium to pedal your place in line for a quick profit.

If you have put a deposit on a car then don't purchase the car, you are lucky if you get your whole deposit back.

Seems instead you feel you deserve interest on your "investment." And it's the investment aspect of your offer that is not appropriate for this board.
