May sell my 997 before I take delivery
Due to several circumstances that I won't get into today I may be willing to sell my new 997 when it arrives in a couple of weeks. If interested you can PM me.
It is an Arctic Silver Carerra S.

It's all good. I will still end up with my car. No problems. More based on opportunity and timing. I may still take delivery. Worst case is I will be driving my 997 in the spring. Thanks for the concern though...

Speculators are tolerated on Rennlist...
though it often amazes me why that's the case. On most boards, they would be ripped to shreads. Maybe these Rennlist boards are populated by lots of car salesmen?

If you sell it will you be passing along the 6% discount you got that may be a prety good deal for someone.

What kind of discount are you getting off of the base price?
I got 6% off the MSRP. Car is supposed to arrive in September.

Alfie, do I have anything against car salesmen?
My original comment was not intended as a slam on car salesmen, merely an observation that I couldn't understand why the original poster wasn't skewered for trying to sell his place in line unless many of the other readers also view Porsches as mere commodities to be flipped for a buck anytime the chance arises.
P.S. It's not relevant to my original post, but since you asked, of course I have bias against car salesmen. I'd rather visit my dentist than dicker with a car salesman. I never have understood why car salesmen believe they have to play games and wear out customers to sell cars.

I am not sure why I would be skewered since the rules of the board allow me to post my car.
As far as the discount this is the deal. The car is due in next week. I originally ordered it in July and got discount of 6%. I will pass along a 2-3% discount, not the entire amount. If I passed along the entire discount it would be a great deal the buyer but makes no sense to me. I put a deposit on the car over 3 months ago and have been waiting so I am not willing to give up the entire discount.
My reason for selling is simple. I live in Ohio. I will probably drive the car for less than 30 days and put it away. I can get the same deal in the spring from another dealer if I order my car in November.
The bottom-line is that if I can't sell it I will keep the car and will be thrilled. The car is not a commodity to me. I had originally been promised the car in September and this move seems to make sense. Emotionally it's tough because I really want the car.
If you are interested fine, if not fine.
