Sport Chrono and lighting

So this is probably an esoteric question, but the literature I have seen (including the Preliminary Order Guide) talks about the Sport Chrono Package, and its ability to "adjust lighting, wipers, AC and door locking to suit personal preferences." What does that mean? And specifically, I wonder if it means the car could be set up to run daytime running lights ( like my motorcycles and LX 470) as a preference?

The Sport Crono Package allows for these user selectable Individual Memory functions:
• Daytime running lights on/off
• Comfort lighting duration adjustable from 10 seconds to120 seconds
• Rear wiper automatically on/off (this allows the driver to select whether the rear wiper should execute one wipe cycle when reverse gear is engaged if a wipe cycle was executed on the windshield within the preceding 40 seconds)
• Automatic climate control: save basic setting (e.g. 73°F, fan set to maximum output and defrost on)
• Unlocking opens all doors or just the driver's door
• Autolock: off, on upon ignition or active after moving off

According to the Porsche website, the Sport Chrono Plus Package includes "even sportier tuning of the chassis, engine, and transmission."
Apparently it increases throttle response, shorter shifts, and stiffer suspension.

When you push the Sports Mode button with Sports Chrono Plus you:
1) Quicken the response of the electronic gas pedal
2) Change the characteristic of the engine decel dashpot, the effect of this with #1 above makes the engine's response to the throttle pedal more agressive up and down.
3) Change engine rev limiter to a harder more abrupt setting
4) The PASM goes into its Sport Mode, stiffening the shock absorber envelope.
5) The PSM goes into it's Sport Mode which delays it's intervention allowing the driver more latitude in control before Porsche AG drives the car for you.
Of the above, the only thing that I would want from Sport Chrono Plus is the throttle response change and rev-limiter change. I could push the Sport Button on the PASM myself and turn off PSM when I wanted it out of the way.
Before electronic gas pedals it was just you, the throttle pedal and the cable to the throttle blade. Now, with E-Gas, and software between the driver and throttle blade, Porsche engineers out throttle response and then sells it back to you as part of a "Sports Package" on a sports car.
Marketing BS at it's best

I pressed "Sport" button in 997 tip and didn't notice any significant change. This car has sport chrono and standard suspension (not pasm) with 18" wheels.

You should sense a change in the Tip's shift character: upshift and sownshift speeds should be higher, no auto upshift at rev limit, shorter shift times, downshifts at higher speeds.
Try it again but this time drive faster and use full throttle more.
