The powerflex insert replacement seems like a very practical option... but how is it really for those who have taken the plunge? They say poly bushings squeak..also I'm wondering, the center part has to stay connected to the poly part on the up and down movements... are there no incidents of separation of these 2 parts?? Experiences and reviews would be greatly appreciated...
I had these installed on my 2009 997.2 C2 a bit less than two years ago when I had new Bilstein B4 shocks and Einbach springs mounted. So far no squeaks or other funny noises coming from that area.
That's great to here... can you share with us any changes you've felt when the poly bushes were installed on the rear shock mount? Harsher ride, higher noise??
I put these in about 3 or 4 months ago as well, no problems they seem very nice. Much stiffer than the OEM foam but not overly so. I notice no difference in ride quality although I also put in new shocks, springs, and controller at the time. In fact my "foam" was partially disintegrated so these are actually quieter.
I recommend them without hesitation, and they're much cheaper than buying the whole dang metal/foam piece.
also have these had them installed with B16s. No odd noises or extra noise that I can hear; ride is of course firmer, but Id guess the majority if not all of that change would be due to the B16s (coming from eibachs)

No discernible effect on ride or noises. Basically I added them to enhance the longevity of the bushings and since I was replacing the springs and shocks anyway, there was no better time!
BTW, although my car is a 2009 C2 and currently with only 31K miles, I was amazed at how deteriorated the stock bushings were. Mind you I live in the Caribbean and we don't have temperature extremes nor the caustic salts that are used in Northern climates for snow removal.
I ordered these to install with a new set of rear Bilstein B6 struts and made the mistake of not test fitting them
onto the new struts before tearing everything down. The bore of the bushing was too small and didnt fit the new or original strut. I ended up having to reuse my old strut mount bushing and send them back. Turns out that they had some sort of manufacturing defect on their end. Next time the struts come down Ill be giving them another try for sure.
No squeaks. Cant comment on ride as I installed them when I put Ohlins. Cant imagine theyre doing all that much besides being a good replacement for the stock ones that deteriorate.
