Last week I installed B16's to replace the Ohlins R&T that a previous owner had installed on my 2012 C4S.
I have no idea when the Ohlins were installed, but the car now has 85K miles on it and it felt like it needed a refresh.
The Ohlins seemed to be good coilovers, but they were basically always a bit stiff, and adjusting them wasn't what I would call easy.
I wanted to utilize the PASM (so I also removed the PASM cancellation resistors that were installed) and will probably be getting a DSC sometime in the future.
So far I love the Bilstein B16s and the fact that the damper stiffness changes at the push of a button.
Did you use the OEM front strut top mounts or went aftermarket?
If we're talking about spring rates we may as well have a comparison chart!
I'm pretty confident these OEM rates are accurate 'caused I checked them with two sources. I can't verify the aftermarket spring rates, but they were posted here in a different thread. All I did was convert the figures into a chart. GT3 rates are in here for comparison as well. C4s generally have slightly higher front rates than shown here (the OEM rates in here are for RWD cars),
Interesting to note the 997.2 SPASM option is the only OEM setup that includes a progressive spring (in the rear). .

@Petza914 makes an important point above. It was not much of an expense to replace every little part of the suspension from the top hats down and it is soooo nice on my 20 year old car. the remaining rubber bits were pretty rotted and crushed. The hard bushings were fine but making more noise than I wanted. Once the new suspension is in with all the little bits replaced, it is butter AND QUIET!! Don't downplay that if you drive your car as YOUR main car. I can drive the Bolt EV but that is really my wife's car and I just do not have the desire to have a second car that will take time away from me being in my 911. Making the suspension super friendly to regular use makes it so I really look forward to any trip big or small.
I had bc racing on my last 997, they had 23k miles on them when i sold it. I honestly felt like they rode nice, not too stiff.
My buddy had feal on his and they were just a bit stiffer, but still not bad.
They are budget brands, but they get the job done and i had zero complaints with mine, for normal use.
PSA for Ohlins R&T owners or soon to be owners. I found that fvd brombacher sells the extension kit (for cabs and bose cars) super cheap relative to everywhere else. $60 or so vs $230 or so. They ship from germany to florida to final destination but didn't take but 1-2 weeks to get to me. Not sure how many they have left.
