Don’t get me wrong I would still absolutely recommend it. But I’m just saying that I don’t think it’s just common as it is being made out to be.

You come to the Forum asking questions about a 997 purchase you know absolutely nothing about. As a newbie here, don't make assumptions.
Many of us have PPI'd cars we wanted to buy and have done Bore Scope Inspections as part of the purchase and got bad Bore Scope results. Hsd you researched Threads on this Forum you would have been aware and up to speed.
At 107K miles, my 06 997C4 has no scoring. However during my hunt, 3 997 cars(all 3 "S" engines) I PPI'd had scoring and 1 had a cracked cylinder.

Those of us who have been "saved" by our due dilligence having had Bore Scope Inspections performed shared our experience on this Forum in hopes of preventing others from buying a 997 w/badly scored cylinders.
You seem oblivious.

Here are a couple of my 107K mile Bore Scope Inspection - All cylinders were clean as I have posted in the past:

Here are a couple of 997S engines I had Bore Scope Inspected with bad results - Lower photo shows cracked cylinder:

Awesome you were able to find one without bore score. Serious question, do you plan on annual (or periodic) scoping now that it’s in your possession?

If not, perhaps the presumption is that if bore score were to occur, it would have presented itself by 107K miles. Perhaps you feel it’s a moot point after you’ve made the financial outlay in the car?

After 107K miles I'd imagine the engine might be prone to scoring at some point in the future but I think the odd's are low - who really knows for sure - I only drive 1200-1500 miles a year so I'm not too worried about issues wth scoring on my 997 going forward.
I've owned total of 7 997's and Bore Scoring wasn't a conversation during ownership of my 1st 4 which were C4S's.
These days I'd never consider a 997 purchase without a full PPI & Bore Scope Inspection. Especially an "S" engine.
Of course these are my opinions based on my 997 PPI/Bore Scope Inspection purchase history.

Gonna be hard driving that Non-PPI'd/Non Bore Scope Inspected 05 997 with your fingers crossed.
