Default PCM Removal

I need to send my PCM out for repair. I have looked at several videos and all is good until I try to pull the side panels off. Do I pull them toward the rear of car or to the side? I don't want to break anything. This is a 2011 Carrera S.
Thanks, Barry

Pull towards the center console, towards you, towards the rear of the car.

OK. My car has 3 screws on each side, not 2 as shown in all the videos. I just kept feeling around.

Not sure about the 3 screws but check this video out. At approx. 2:15 he uses a small panel tool to get some leverage to remove it. Worked for me..

There are fasteners that have to be rotated to a certain position, not unscrewed. Find a video that shows that if you haven't already...may e one of the HVAC toggle replacement ones - MA Carbon has great videos.

2 torx screws at the back and pull towards the rear... that will get the sides off. To remove the pcm, Allen screws 2 on each side rotated counterclockwise till the stop... around half a turn...

Torq screws in the foot wells. The panels must be pulled to the rear of the car (aft), and you need some good pressure to get them loose. Then an allen wrench to rotate the locks on each side of the PCM. The cables have a little latch that needs to be depressed. The large cable bundle has a lock that needs to be rotated away from you and down.

Take a look at my write up on doing a Tookie install. (Look in the DIY section”). It’s easier than you think. The hardest parts to pull off are the side leather pieces that surround the PCM..Good luck.
