Default Passenger Seat Stuck

2009 C2S 49,650 miles. I searched this issue with no luck. Odd issue…The for/aft function on ONE my passenger seat rails does not function. When I try to move seat forward or back only the right side rail motor seems to try to move the seat. Unfortunately the seat is too far back so I cant get access to the bolts to remove the seat so I can under to test the motors or check the tracks for debris. Any ideas how to remove the seat and or on the movement issue?

I had this exact same issue on my sport seats a few months ago shortly after acquiring the car (997.1S w 53k).

Took it into a local indy (San Jose CA) and they were able to diagnose a cable that connects to one of the seat motors was stripped. They were able to finagle the wire enough to move the seat enough to access the bolts to remove the seat.

Unfortunately, in the end they couldn’t fix it and the cable/motor don’t appear to be a separate part and you need to buy a complete seat bottom assembly ($$$).

I’ve subscribed to the thread in the event someone else chimes in with a different approach.

Thank you for reply. Hopefully somebody out there will have a solution. I will try to finagle around to see if I can move the seat forward enough to get to the seat bolts.

Probably a dime dropped into the track. Happens more often than you'd think

I hope it’s a dime in the track. I will try to raise it as high as I can to get a look. I guess there is no way to manually move the seat forward a bit?

Had the same problem when I bought my C4. By laying prone on the seat cushion and hanging my head, I was able to see that the output shaft for the seat motor had fallen out of its insertion on the left side seat rail. Using needle nose pliers, I could replace it and it started working again. The asymmetric torque had bent the right seat rail and my Indy took it apart and repaired it.

Ok, I will try to get a look under the seat to see if it’s either bent, out of track or a coin on the track. Great replies.

This is what my indy found as well, but mine seems to be stripped and not repairable. Does anyone know of the part # for that seat motor?

I believe parts 5 & 24 are what is needed for moving the seat forward & backward. Part numbers are 99762433200 (diagram part 5) and 99752190100 (diagram part 24).
