Default Warning for fan blower?

I have an error on my 2008 C4S cabriolet that pops up from time to time. I need to take a pic but haven’t yet. It’s something like the “fan blower.”

I don’t have the AC on and it comes and goes. The car does have a supercharger, but since that’s aftermarket, I don’t think it has anything to do with it.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I had this happen yesterday in my 08 C2S.. "Engine Compartment Blower Fan Failure" I had my A/C on max and it was 112° here in the desert. The error message went away so I'm hoping it had something to do with the A/C on max and the temperature. All engine temperatures were normal, but it did scare the crap out of me. I did another quick run in the afternoon without issue. I read that there is a fuse for the fan that should be upgraded to a 15amp. I'll check that if the problem comes back....

Thanks for the reply. I’ll keep searching and report back what I find as well.

Do you hear the fan inside the engine compartment working when the car gets hot? It's probably related to that. You can't test it with the decklid up as there's a switch 8n the latch that won't let it run if open. You could however put 12v directly to the fan contacts and see if it runs. If not, you need a new fan.

Here are a couple of links with info about changing out the 3amp fuse with a 15amp fuse.
